Sailing the South Pacific
Good morning, the captain is trying to outrun the two low pressure areas and get to Papeete before we intersect with one of them. We are apparently in the area between Cyclone Nat and Cyclone Oasi. They are both Category 1. This means there isn’t any damage expected, just high winds and rough ocean.
Unfortunately, rough ocean does seem to be the call for these two days. Having taken one seasick pill as we left Nuku Hiva, there was the feeling all will be ok. The rocking and swaying of the ship seemed to prove differently. By the morning of the second day an additional pill was called for.
Regrettably this means I basically spent these two days asleep. There is a vague recollection of the ship docking in Papeete. Going past the reef and into the Nanuu Bay was very rough.
The current prediction is that the storms will pass through this area in the next day or so. We do have excursions here on both days.
That’s all folks.
